'I Would Love To See Him In Chelsea Blue' 'Won't Happen' Fans React As Club Hold 'Talks' With Spanish Star's Agent Who Arsenal Are Strongly Linked With

Chelsea have been “engaged in talks” with the entourage of Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, according to reports.

The Blues are keen on strengthening their options out wide this summer and TBRFootball claim that the Spanish international is very much under consideration. Williams is a highly rated young player and, while fans on X would love to see him move to Stamford Bridge, not everyone is sure it is a realistic ambition:

Let's go🔥🔥 I would love to see him in Chelsea blue

Chelsea already know how much the forward will cost

It is believed that Williams has a release clause in his contract worth around £50m and that is not a fee that would put off Enzo Maresca’s side from making a bid.

However, there are other factors that will make a deal complicated to complete. Williams is already earning in excess of €200,000 a week and he would likely demand an increase on that amount to make the switch to London.

There is also expected to be a lot of competition for the 22-year-old, with the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal having been credited with an interest in the player.

Williams could replace Mudryk or Sancho

The left wing is an area that Maresca will be keen to reinforce. Not only is Mykhailo Mudryk suspended, but the future of Jadon Sancho is up in the air.

Despite ostensibly having an obligation to buy Sancho, it appears Chelsea still have the option of sending him back to United if they pay £5m. Based on the player’s recent form, it is something that may well be considered.
