What the coach has to say
Tommy Stroot and his team suffered a big defeat against FC Barcelona. Now they travel to Estadi Johan Cruijff with little chance of going to the semi-finals. After the first leg, Tommy Stroot said:
“It’s a well-deserved defeat against a team that’s a benchmark in the way they play. On the one hand by the quality and on the other hand by the brutality with which they appear. Purely from the defensive behavior we were relatively good in the first half and also in many situations in the second half.
“It’s more about what we do in our possession phases. They were way too short for us today. In moments when we could have turned up or kept the ball with us, we make the wrong decisions. As a result, Barca was able to quickly regain the qualities they have in their possession phases. Defending it for 90 minutes is extremely difficult.”
