Gherardini was a guest on the Alley Oop show, where he firstly reflected on Fenerbahce's season so far:
"I think it's been a good season so far, especially considering that the conditions have changed after a short while," Gherardini starts.
"When a roster built in a certain way loses its most representative player (Scottie Wilbekin) on the first days, also from a financial point of view, and then immediately after the second (Wade Baldwin) you find yourself in an emergency situation."
"We managed to get a good response from everyone and manage the emergency due to injuries."
"I think the coach and the staff have done a great job, the players have slowly developed the right chemistry and I think good choices have been made to manage the shortcomings".
Gherardini also gave his opinion on NBA Europe:
“It seems to me that many comments have been made, many things have been hypothesized, but in reality nothing concrete has ever been formalized."
"I can only say that the Euroleague is a product that is growing, there is a significant demand from clubs that would like to invest in entering the Euroleague in a more stable way than the current one."
"Then everyone is very curious to understand if a signal, a project or something will come from the NBA. The first could be, to give a reference, the Board of Governors of the owners and we need to see if a signal or a proposal will emerge from this meeting."
"At the moment the only concrete thing that the Euroleague has done was to modify and renew the partnership with IMG until 2026," Gherardini concluded.
