Thomas Tuchel embracing Marcus Rashford following a substitution
Thomas Tuchel recalled Marcus Rashford to the England squad this month after a year out of the national team
Marcus Rashford has said thanks on social media for the support after playing for England during the international break.
Rashford, 27, started the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia at Wembley Stadium during this international break.
The forward had not played for the Three Lions since last March, with Gareth Southgate leaving him out of the European Championship squad.
However, under new England head coach Thomas Tuchel, Rashford was one of only six players to start his first two matches.
Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa, Harry Kane, Jordan Pickford, Jude Bellingham and Myles Lewis-Skelly were the others to feature in both starting line-ups.
Without any of Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire or Kobbie Mainoo available because of injury, Rashford was the only United player in Tuchel's first squad.
He was one of three Villa players involved, alongside Konsa and Morgan Rogers, with Ollie Watkins another missing out through injury.
Rashford shared several photos of him playing for England on Instagram after the 3-0 win over Latvia.
"(three lion emojis) 2 wins in 2 games (England flag emoji) Thank you for the support (smiling face emoji)," the caption reads.
After tagging the England account in his post, they commented with a red heart emoji.
Jordan Henderson - who came on for England as a late substitute in both games after his recall - also interacted, commenting with a heart-eyes emoji.
The post has over 400,000 likes, with several United players among those to do so. Amad, Andre Onana, Antony, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Joshua Zirkzee, Lisandro Martinez all did.
Alejandro Garnacho, Christian Eriksen, Harry Amass, Leny Yoro, Maguire and Victor Lindelof liked a previous post following the 2-0 win over Albania.
Some of his former teammates have similarly shown support. That includes Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Donny van de Beek, Facundo Pellistri, Phil Jones and Shola Shoretire.
