Barca want to extend Flick’s contract at end of season

Barcelona are reportedly hoping to extend manager Hansi Flick’s current contract at the end of the season.

Flick’s existing deal runs until 2027 but Barcelona want to avoid him heading into the new campaign with just 12 months left on his current contract. according to Sport.

Both parties are said to be relaxed about the situation and there is a “good feeling” that an agreement with be reached without any problems.

Barcelona are also willing to offer Flick a pay rise after an impressive debut campaign with the Catalan giants. It was reported when he signed that his two-year deal was worth €3.5 million a year plus incentives (including a €1m bonus for winning the Champions League).

Flick isn’t thought to be keen on signing long-term contracts but wants to stay and has said many times how much he loves being at the club.

The German coach also knows that an extension will bring harmony and stability to the team and also prevent any speculation arising about his future.
