Max Kilman has been a mainstay at West Ham this season, and the latest transfer news is unlikely to affect that.
Having once looked as though they were at threat of relegation, Graham Potter has done an excellent job to steer West Ham to where they are now.
The Irons are certainly safe, and have an excellent foundation to build from for the new campaign, which will hopefully be far more fruitful than the current season.
Much of that minor success has been down to the impressive displays of Kilman, who could benefit massively if West Ham are to make a defensive signing in the summer.

West Ham will be in line for a huge summer transfer window, though not all of their signings will be made with the intention to improve the starting 11.

Depth and experience will be just as important at the London Stadium, with Martin Allen suggesting that the Irons would look at signing Tyrone Mings if the veteran defender were to be made available in the summer.
Mings knows the Premier League like the back of his hand, and while he has had plenty of injury troubles, his experience would be invaluable, which would, in turn, benefit Kilman as he begins a slow approach into his early 30s.

Kilman has played regularly for West Ham this season
Given that they are both left-sided centre backs, Kilman could certainly learn a lot from Mings, while having that additional bit of cover when needed throughout the season.
It’s unlikely to be a signing that sparks optimism for the Hammers, but it is one that could prove to be a rather important one if pursued.

West Ham will need to be smart this summer
If the Hammers are to progress even further under Potter, recruitment needs to be far better than it has been over the last few seasons.
The foundations of an excellent squad are present at the London Stadium, though a few pieces of the puzzle are missing, and if addressed, West Ham could get back to competing much higher up the Premier League table.
