**Newcastle United must generate a lot of money for the TV broadcasters given how many times our games are selected for live broadcast.**
It's a shame, then, that we don't get the same level of praise and bum-licking that the 'big six' get. It seems the TV broadcasters, particularly Sky Sports, are more than happy to profit off us but can't bring themselves to show us the love we deserve.
Sometimes it actually feels like they purposefully select specific fixtures to broadcast just to inconvenience our fans, like they have done today.
The [club announced today](https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/two-magpies-matches-selected-for-tv) that two more upcoming matches have been picked to be shown on Sky Sports, one of which has resulted in a schedule change that will make things harder for travelling fans.

Newcastle's trip to Brighton in May has been moved for TV coverage

First up is the home tie against Crystal Palace on 16th April at 7:30pm is still scheduled for the same date and time but will now be shown live on Sky Sports.
However, the trip to Brighton and Hove Albion which was set for Saturday 3rd May has now been moved to Sunday 4th May with a 2pm kick-off time set with Sky Sports showing the game.
So now Newcastle fans have to find transport back to the North East on a Sunday which is notoriously more difficult than a Saturday thanks to fewer trains running on Sundays.

One saving grace is that the travelling Magpies have been given ample time to plan for the change, and they could have really screwed the fans over by moving the game to a Monday night.
Of course, this is the price we pay for being such an intriguing entity and still having something to play for at the end of the season.
And given that the more we appear on TV, the more money we earn from the TV revenue split, and therefore the more we have to play with in terms of PSR, we shouldn't complain _too_ much. But we will. It's what we do as a species.
