A historic honor for Mohamed Salah– but why was he missing

Egypt finally inaugurates the Youth Center in the name of the Egyptian star player and the Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah.

Mohamed Salah is more than just a player in his country; he is considered the “Egyptian King” due to his brilliant career in football. Now, another journey associated with his name hasstarted.

Egypt’s Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Ashraf Sobhi has finally inaugurated the Mohamed Salah Youth Center. The youth centre was funded by the Liverpool and Egyptian national team star in 2018.

This Youth center is near Mohamed Salah’s hometown of Nagrig. The inaugural session was attended by Mohamed Salah’s father, Salah Ghaly, and his brother Nasser. Apart from them, Mohamed Salah’s first coach, Mr. Mustafa Qarni, was also present there in the inaugural session.

How Mohamed Salah reacted

Although the Egyptian winger was not present in person at that inaugural event, the people are very happy about the inauguration and the commitment of the player to the future of many.

According to a news report published by Dave Ockop, the facilities of this Youth Center will include multiple sports equipment.

Apart from that, the center will also have a museum section showing some of Salah’s memorabilia, including footballs, shirts, and images from his illustrious career.

During the inauguration event, Dr. Sobhi highlighted the commitment of the ministry to create this kind of opportunity for young athletes throughout Egypt. He said,

“Projects like the Mohamed Salah Youth Center serve multiple objectives, including developing talent, selecting promising athletes. And providing constructive ways for young people to spend their time through sports.”

Mohamed Salah is becoming one of the most popular players in the world of football in recent times. His recent form with Liverpool is also astonishing. The 32-year-old recently became Liverpool’s third-highest goalscorer in club history.
