The Ole Miss football program has served as a factory for NFL wide receivers over the last decade and a half. While A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf get most of the spotlight, the Rebels also produced other solid pass-catchers like Mike Wallace, Laquon Treadwell and Elijah Moore.
Tre Harris, who spent two years in Oxford after starting his college career at Louisiana Tech, is the next wide receiver from Ole Miss who is destined for success in the NFL. On Monday, former NFL quarterback Chris Simms released his rankings for the top wide receivers in the 2025 NFL Draft class, and he has Harris ranked No. 5 among his peers.
In his two seasons as a Rebel, Harris totaled 114 catches for 2,015 yards and 15 touchdowns, including a 1,030-yard campaign in his final season. He had the second-most receiving yards in the SEC in 2024, as well as the fifth-most catches.
Harris is ranked just a few spots behind coveted prospects like Colorado's Travis Hunter and Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan on Simms' list. He may not be regarded in the same breath as these players, but Simms also noted his big-play ability, which was put on full display in Oxford over the last two seasons. Harris will likely be picked somewhere in the middle rounds, but whichever NFL team selects him will be glad that they did.
