**General Director of Multilateral Affairs and International Law of the MINREX receives Co-president of the National Hostosian Independence Movement, Puerto Rico**
Havana, March 24, 2025.- The General Director of Multilateral Affairs and International Law of MINREX, Juan Antonio Quintanilla Román, received this afternoon a delegation of the National Hostosian Independence Movement of Puerto Rico (MINH), headed by its co-president, Julio Muriente Pérez.
In this fraternal meeting, the historic brotherhood between the peoples of Cuba and Puerto Rico was highlighted, as well as the intense work of MINH in the struggle against colonialism and the defense of the independence of the Puerto Rican people.
The invariable commitment and support of our country to the resolution on the colonial question of Puerto Rico adopted annually by the Special Committee on Decolonization of the United Nations (C-24) was ratified. The text, presented by Cuba, recognizes Puerto Rico´ inalienable right to self-determination and independence, in accordance with United Nations General Assembly resolution 1514.
The resolution also recognizes that the people of Puerto Rico constitute a Latin American and Caribbean nation with its own unmistakable national identity.
The Puerto Rican delegation is carrying out an intense program of meetings on the occasion of its working visit to Cuba.
