Americans’ attitudes to sport are weird. Football, or soccer if you insist, remains a minority sport in the USA, yet millions love basketball and ice hockey. Baffling.
The one American sport whose appeal is not difficult to understand is baseball. It’s a terrific game. Then again, it’s basically rounders with notions, so perhaps that’s why it’s the most relatable of all American sports.
