Where Russell Wilson will reportedly continue his post-Seahawks career

Quarterback Russell Wilson is on his third team in four years since the Seahawks traded him three years go this month.

That become official Tuesday afternoon as multiple reports said Wilson agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Giants worth up to $21 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed.

Wilson became an unrestricted free agent on March 12.

He played last season on a one-year contract with the Steelers that paid him the veteran minimum of $1.21 million as he was still getting more than $37 million from the Denver Broncos.

While Wilson had talks with the Steelers, they appear to be going in a different direction. They had discussions with Aaron Rodgers to sign as their new quarterback, including an in-person visit last Friday.

Rodgers remains unsigned, but Wilson decided not to wait and joins a crowded Giant quarterback room.

The Giants signed Jameis Winton to a two-year deal worth up to $8 million last week, and also have three-year vet Tommy DeVito on the roster.

The Giants also have the third pick in the 2025 draft and are likely to consider taking a quarterback, likely Shedeur Sanders of Colorado.

The signing of Wilson allows the Giants to not have to rush a rookie quarterback into starting duty.

Wilson goes to New York hoping to show he still can be a viable NFL starting quarterback after a 2024 season that revealed mixed results — and doing so with a team that plays its home games at MetLife Stadium, the site of his greatest moment, where the Seahawks won the Super Bowl on Feb 2. 2014 against the Broncos.
