BROOK PARK, Ohio (WOIO) - The Mayor of Edward Orcutt told 19 News that in order to make the Brown’s new dome and mixed used facility a reality, they need to have shovels in the ground at the beginning of 2026.

“This is a great opportunity to build a state-of-the-art world-class facility here in the state of Ohio,” says Mayor Orcutt.

He says he is excited about the potential new legislation coming out of Columbus that would put a $600 million dollar bond package for the Cleveland Browns new facility into the state budget.

“We will find out once this budget is passed, but the way it is looking right now, it seems like we are having good support from the Capital,” says Mayor Orcutt.

Financing this project has been a hot button topic since the it was presented.

Both Cleveland and Cuyahoga County have been vocal about apposing the bond package.

“We are not focusing on any of the negativity of this project. We are looking at this proactively. We are very optimistic that this will happen,” says Mayor Orcutt.

The Mayor has consistently said that he would not move forward with this project if it didn’t make financial sense for the people in Brook Park.

He stressed that property taxes will not go up to in order to fund the new facility.

“What we are planning to do it utilize the funds that will be a part of the admission’s tax, part of the parking tax and income tax to be able to pay for our obligation to this project,” says Mayor Orcutt.
