Giants WR Sends Four-Word Message After Russell Wilson Announcement

After weeks of speculation, veteran quarterback Russell Wilson finally decided which team he will play for this coming season. He decided to sign a one-year contract with the New York Giants that will pay him up to $21 million, with $10.5 million guaranteed.

He had been linked to the Giants for a little while - he had met with them on March 14, and the meeting apparently went well.

The Giants don't have a lot of viable playmakers to put alongside Wilson, but Darius Slayton, one of their main threats at the wide receiver position, posted a simple four-letter message on X to welcome his new quarterback.

"Giants country…..Lets Ride," Slayton wrote.

Wilson rebounded from dismal 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Denver Broncos to put together a solid 2024 campaign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He threw for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns in 11 games with Pittsburgh while helping to lead it to a 10-7 record and a playoff berth.

He had failed to make the playoffs in his two seasons with Denver.

Wilson, 36, was the face of the Seattle Seahawks from his rookie season in 2012 until 2021. He led the franchise to its first Super Bowl championship in just his second pro season, and it came close to repeating as world champions the following year.

He has been named to the Pro Bowl 10 times, with his most recent nod coming last season.
