Bucks Get Awful Damian Lillard News Before Nuggets Matchup

The Denver Nuggets will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday as they try to turn things around with the playoff right around the corner.

Denver enters Wednesday's game having lost six of their last 10 games as they have seen multiple of their star players in Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon miss time due to injury.

They will now look to pick up a much-needed victory over a Bucks team that is also struggling as they have dropped six of their last 10 games as well.

Milwaukee also received some terrible news regarding the health of their superstar point guard Damian Lillard ahead of Wednesday's matchup.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Lillard has sustained a deep vein thrombosis in his right calf and is on blood-thinning medication that has stabilized the blood clot.

Charania also reported that Lillard is out for an indefinite period due to the blood clot.

Of course, Lillard had missed Milwaukee's last three games due to a calf injury and he could now be in danger of missing the rest of the season.

This is terrible news for the Bucks with the playoffs right around the corner but Bucks' General Manager Jon Horst did say that Lillard will have a weekly process of strict criteria to make sure that it is safe for him to return to play.

With Lillard's blood clot, he now marks the second player in the NBA this season to suffer from one as San Antonio Spurs superstar center Victor Wembanyama is set to miss the remainder of the season due to a blood clot in his shoulder.

The Bucks will likely continue to start Ryan Rollins in Lillard's place until the star point guard can return and Kevin Porter Jr. should also see an increased role down the stretch with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kyle Kuzma having to carry the load offensively.

Fans can catch Wednesday's game between the Bucks and Nuggets at 9:00 p.m. EST.
