“Crossroads of Peace” Initiative to Create Major Opportunity for Strengthening Armenia-Iran…

YEREVAN — During a joint press conference with the Armenian Foreign Minister, Iran’s  Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi recalled that Iran had expressed its support for the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative proposed by Armenia’s Prime Minister.

“We believe it will create a great opportunity to strengthen relations between the two countries. We are at a point where we can say that there is diversity in the ways Armenia and Iran can develop their relations, and we are witnessing positive momentum,” Araghchi stated.

According to him, Armenia and Iran have agreed to make the best use of the potential that exists in their bilateral relations.

“Iran and Armenia are ready to create conditions in the field of transit that will facilitate the transportation of Iranian goods to the Black Sea, as well as the movement of Iranian trucks toward the Persian Gulf, India, and Oman. We also had an excellent discussion about constructing a new bridge over the Araks River to ease freight transport,” he added.

“We have also agreed to continue cooperation and mutual support for each other’s positions on international platforms.

“We highly value the cultural and people-to-people ties and are determined to further develop these relations. We also aim to tap into the untapped potential to enhance cooperation in other sectors. We believe both countries have considerable unused resources, which must be identified and utilized,” Araghchi concluded.
