On February 26, 2025, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei delivered through Kuwait TV his message of congratulations on the occasion of Kuwait’s 64th National Day, 34th Liberation Day anniversaries and Ramadan.
In his message, Ambassador Zhang extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal, Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah, Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad and the government and people of Kuwait. He pointed out that Kuwait is an important strategic partner of China that has unique and significant influence in the Middle East, adding that the Silk Road-themed song specially produced and launched by the Chinese Embassy prior to Kuwait’s National Day sings the praises of the profound friendship between the two peoples. Noting the cooperation document recently signed by the two sides for the Mubarak Al Kabeer port, Ambassador Zhang stressed China’s commitment to working with Kuwait to implement the important common understandings reached between President Xi Jinping and Amir Sheikh Mishal, deepen practical cooperation in various areas and create greater synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and “Kuwait Vision 2035”, so as to elevate China-Kuwait strategic partnership to new heights.
