Boubacar Kamara is reportedly in contract talks with Aston Villa
Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara
Aston Villa have reportedly opened discussions with Boubacar Kamara over a new contract.
The midfielder is viewed as a crucial part of Unai Emery’s plans moving forward, having excelled at Villa since joining on a free transfer from Marseille in the summer of 2023.
It emerged that Villa were hoping to tie Kamara down to a new long-term deal after the January window had passed, and now The Telegraph claims that talks have started.
They add that an agreement is expected to be reached without any issues arising.
Kamara is due to enter the final two years of his contract after the end of this season, with his current deal expiring in 2027.
The 25-year-old is a fundamental part of Villa’s squad, operating deep in midfield at a level few others can match.
Kamara has made 28 appearances across all competitions this season, starting six Champions League games and 13 in the Premier League.
He suffered an ACL injury back in February, causing him to miss pre-season and the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
Villa tied Morgan Rogers down to a new deal back in November, while Jhon Duran also signed fresh terms before being sold to Al-Nassr for £65m plus add-ons in January.
