A man has been arrested in Colorado Springs after he held up a convenience store with a “finger gun” before fleeing with his daughter in a pink SUV.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Antonio Taylor, used his finger to imitate a firearm after he barged into the shop, threatened the store clerk, and then helped himself to various merchandise.

Witnesses told how the suspect got into a pink GMC Yukon, which officers spotted a short time later and tried to pull over.

The driver allegedly sped off before officers in an unmarked police vehicle later located the vehicle at a Maverick gas station.

When officers approached the vehicle they realised that the suspect’s teenage daughter was in the passenger seat.

According to police, the suspect refused to let his daughter out of the car, requiring officers to move in.

She was removed “for her own safety” while he was taken into custody for numerous charges including robbery.

According to local media reports, the robbery took place late on Sunday night at a store off Newport Road and Aeroplaza.

According to employees, the suspect pointed a “finger gun” at the clerk and told him it was a robbery.

“The suspect used coarse language that intimidated the store clerk and put him in fear of physical harm from the suspect,” a Colorado Springs Police Department lieutenant said.

“An extraction of the daughter was performed for her own safety. The suspect was then taken into custody for numerous charges including robbery,” the lieutenant added.

According to KKTV, records indicate that Taylor was still in custody at the El Paso County jail on Monday morning.
