During this meeting, Ms. Roza Otunbayeva, head of UNAMA, provided detailed briefing regarding her recent address to the UN-Security Council, the Council’s decision to extend UNAMA’s mission, & her engagements in New York and Vienna. Additionally, she highlighted on the United Nations’ efforts concerning counter-narcotics, the strengthening of the private sector, & resolving banking sector challenges.
In response, FM Muttaqi articulated the position of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on various matters. He also assured the United Nations of Afghanistan’s cooperation in all UN-led initiatives, provided that aligning with the principles & perspectives of the Islamic Emirate.
