It's so obvious who Everton will sign if Jarrad Branthwaite joins Man United this summer -…

Everton are set to be rid of the PSR issues this summer transfer window.

At the end of the financial year in June, the Toffees will finally be set free from restrictions in their spending.

The Friedkin Group will give David Moyes lots of cash to spend as they look to return the club to its past glories.

Everton are already eyeing Tom Fellows after his impressive season for promotion-chasing West Bromwich Albion.

A striker is also thought to be on the shortlist, though, they face a battle to keep one of their star players, Jarrad Branthwaite.

Man United have made a fresh approach to sign Branthwaite, who is considering his future on Merseyside after being snubbed by England boss Thomas Tuchel.

So, with that said, here’s the obvious Branthwaite replacement Everton could sign.

Everton could sign Maxime Esteve to replace Jarrad Branthwaite

If Branthwaite does decide against signing a contract extension, Everton will have to sanction his sale this summer to ensure they maximise profit.

Finding his replacement won’t be easy, but Burnley’s centre-back collusus Maxime Esteve could be the perfect addition.

Esteve is left-footed just like Branthwaite and is extremely comfortable on the ball, such is why Tottenham and Everton were showing an interest in January.

The Toffees have already added Esteve to their summer shortlist, though, they will have to cough up in excess of £30m to land his signature.

David Moyes wants to shop in Championship

Esteve fits the exact type of signing Moyes wants.

The Everton boss has made it clear that the club should be looking to recruit from the Championship, as he believes it’s home to a plethora of future Premier League stars.

Speaking back in January, Moyes said: “I know we’re in a world where we can pick players from any continent to play in the Premier League.

“A long time ago, it wasn’t as easy and maybe people didn’t look as far. We continue to look closer to home, which is the Championship. Last year, the Championship produced some incredible players like (Morgan) Rogers, (Adam) Wharton, (Jaden) Philogene possibly.

“The Championship is always a place we should be looking to see. With the position we’re in, we could do with a couple of seasoned players but if not, we need to get players in to help with the numbers etc.

“Most of the targets have already been in. I’ve come in and been able to throw my tuppence worth, see some things and look. But the people here are the ones who have been working on it for the last three or four months.”
