Man Utd fans have a lot to say as club sends Jadon Sancho a message, deliver clear verdict

Perhaps no other player has had his stock collapse so spectacularly in a single season like Jadon Sancho’s has this season.

What started as a potential reconciliation between Jadon Sancho and Erik ten Hag at the start of the season has now reached a point where a team is willing to pay Man Utd to take him back.

It would be the understatement of the century to say that Sancho is not a popular figure around Old Trafford these days.

Nowhere was that sentiment more visible than on Instagram where the club confusingly sent Jadon Sancho a message, only for it to backfire spectacularly.

Man Utd sends Jadon Sancho a message

Sancho is no stranger to social media, with his petty dig at Man Utd on Marcus Rashford’s post backfiring after his performances failed to back it up.

Sancho has failed miserably at Chelsea and United are now sweating over the possibility of his return, along with his quarter of a million/week in wages.

It was confusing, therefore, when United sent him a message on Instagram, wishing the much-maligned winger a happy 25th birthday.

United posted a picture of the player in Man Utd colours with the message, “Wishing Jadon Sancho a happy 25th birthday.”

Generally a harmless wish aimed with the best intentions, Man Utd fans were up in arms at the thought of United trying to engineer a soft landing for the player back at the club with posts like these.

They delivered a clear verdict on what they thought about this.

Man Utd fans on Jadon Sancho message

United fans were in no mood to let Sancho forget about his history with the club in response to the club’s post on Instagram wishing him a happy birthday.

“Happy birthday to our favourite freedom fighter,” wrote one in a post dripping with sarcasm as another said, “He should get his birthday wishes from Nelson Mandela and Chelsea!”.

One fan insinuated that United were in on the joke, “Admin knew what he was doing by keeping the comments open,” as a fourth wrote, “Give him freedom please, we don’t want him anymore.”

A fifth was scared to see Sancho in United colours amid reports of Chelsea exploring options to send him back, “I thought Chelsea already sent him back!”.

“I think it’s safe to say no one wants him back,” said one as another wrote, “Bro will soon be free from a club.”

What a fall from grace for a player who Rio Ferdinand once coined next “best player in the world”. For once, United are less to blame than the player himself.
