During Ramadan, the European Union in Egypt, with support from the European Investment Bank and the Swedish Embassy in Egypt, funded a truck in collaboration with Misr El Kheir. The truck distributed meals to people in villages across governorates for seven days, totalling 7,000 meals. Ambassadors and staff from the EU Delegation to Egypt, the European Investment Bank, and the Swedish Embassy in Egypt worked together to prepare and pack meals. The meals were distributed in Aswan, Luxor, Fayoum, Assiut, Beni Suef, and Qena. This year’s Team Europe Initiative builds on the previous ones. Last year, more than 700 Ramadan boxes containing vital food items were provided to the most needy families, with 30% of the boxes going to Gazan families living in Egypt.
