This will be the first time the Cherries have been in the Quarter Final of the FA Cup as a Premier League team. All three games at this stage of the competition have been home at Dean Court. The first time they achieved it was back in the 1956-57 season when we were in Division 3 South against Manchester United from the old Division 1, the attendance of 28,799 is still a club record. The second time was in the 2020-21 season as a Championship side against Southampton, who were in the Premier League. Our club were beaten on both occasions.
Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City team have had a disappointing season results wise. They have been knocked out of the Champions League and our own League Cup. After winning the league title for the last four seasons, they are now fighting to finish in a Champions League place this season, they are in 5th place after 29 games. So the only trophy left for them to win is the FA Cup.
They have reached this stage of the FA Cup competition by beating League 2 side Salford City 8-0 in the third round at home at the Etihad Stadium. In the fourth round they were drawn away against League 1 side Leyton Orient. City won 1-2. In the fifth round, they were at home against Plymouth Argyle from the Championship, City won 3-1. This will be the first time we have met Manchester City in the FA Cup.
In all competitions against Manchester City, AFCB have W 1, D 2, L 19.
AFCB Team News
We are going to be without two of our best players, Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen are both suspended. Luis Sinisterra has had a recurrence of his hamstring injury and had to be subbed after coming on as a substitute against Brentford.
AFCB Player To Watch
Without Dean Huijsen, Illia Zabarnyi will be crucial in the centre of our defence.
Manchester City Team News
Bernardo Silva, Nathan Ake, Rodri, Oscar Bobb, John Stones and Manual Akanji could all miss this game through injury. Ederson they hope will be available again.
Manchester City Player To Watch
Erling Haaland has scored 21 league goals this in a Manchester City side having a disappointing season. He is second-leading scorer behind Mo Salah in the Premier League. Haaland in his last 6 league games, has scored 4 goals and had 2 assists.
The Referee
Stuart Atwell will be in charge of our fourth match this season. The others were in the league, away at Everton and Newcastle and home against Brighton.

It seems so long ago that we beat Wolves and this game was announced.
Feels like the game will kick-off a week that will define our season, as a semi final spot will be a fantastic milestone for the club. Plus, we really need to max points from the subsequent Ipswich and west ham league games. – To join the conversation, please click here.
