It has been quite a fruitful international break for Wolves players in terms of scoring goals for their countries.
Last week, the likes of Marshall Munetsi, Hwang Hee-chan and Matt Doherty were all on target for their countries.
And there was big news last night, as Matheus Cunha scored his first goal for the Brazil national team in their 4-2 defeat to Argentina.
It was a proud moment for Cunha, who also featured in Brazil’s win over Colombia last week.
But he was not the only player who was on target for his country last night, with one of Wolves’ young players also scoring.

Yesterday Zimbabwe were back in action, and took on Nigeria in their latest World Cup qualifier .
It has not been a good campaign for the Warriors, who sit bottom of their group without a win to their name.
Last night’s game ended 1-1, but there was at least good news from a Wolves perspective, with Tawanda Chirewa scoring his first ever goal for his country.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Zimbabwe were heading for defeat.
But Chirewa popped up in injury-time, ghosting into the box from the left side, beating a defender with a great first touch to gather the ball before prodding the ball into the far corner.
It was a goal that stunned the home crowd into silence, with the two dropped points preventing them from moving up to second in their group from fourth.
It was a proud moment for Chirewa, who only made his debut for the national team last summer. This was his second goal for his country, after bagged against South Africa on his second cap, and a potential message to Vitor Pereira back at Wolves.
A big couple of months for Chirewa
This season Chirewa went on loan at Derby Country, before Huddersfield Town in League One at the end of the January transfer window.
The youngster had high hopes for the season after making his first-team debut for Wolves under Gary O’Neil in 2024/25. But unfortunately a serious injury spoiled his spell at Pride Park, and he made just six appearances for Derby before he went to Huddersfield.
That thigh injury also caused him to miss the last three Zimbabwe squads.

Appearances – 18
Minutes played – 902
Goals – 2
Assists – 0
So a big couple of months await Chirewa, who will be looking to make a big impression and hopefully make Pereira take note of him in these final weeks of the season.
It is perhaps unlikely that he’ll be a first-teamer at Molineux next season given how much football he’s missed this term.
But it’s not impossible, and hopefully he can now build on this great goal against Nigeria.
