Report: Qatar Airways stadium naming rights claim made as Everton's plans shared for BMD

Everton are preparing themselves to make the move from Goodison Park in just a matter of months time.

The Friedkin Group are about to lead the Toffees into Bramley-Moore Dock this summer in what they hope will be a monumental shift for the club.

It has not been an easy season for Everton, with the managerial change putting a much more positive spin on the term.

David Moyes admitted he wanted Everton to stay at Goodison, but there are plenty of benefits in moving to the state of the art stadium.

Everton held their second test event last weekend at Bramley-Moore, but there’s still work to be done.

The club chiefs are working hard to secure a lucrative naming rights deal for their brand-new stadium, with some potential suitors lined up.

Qatar Airways mooted for Everton stadium naming rights deal

Everton are eyeing a huge PSR boost by securing themselves a high-profile stadium naming rights agreement.

It would provide the club with significantly more freedom to splash the cash in the transfer window as they aim to bolster Moyes’ squad.

According to The Athletic, their club sources are yet to confirm anything relating to the rumours surrounding Qatar Airways.

“I’ve heard the same rumours as you, Mike [fan], but it’s not something I’ve had confirmed by contacts yet (hence we’ve not written it),” they said.

“For clarity, we need multiple independent sources telling us the same thing, so it’s better to be cautious. We’ll only run something if we know it’s happening.

“The club aim to have a naming rights partner in time for the new season but are happy to wait a little longer if it means finding the right sponsor. Tottenham Hotspur and others haven’t found it easy.”

Bramley-Moore will provide Everton a significant revenue boost to their matchday takings with significantly improved facilities and capacity.

But the stadium naming rights is a deal which could be a real game changer for the Toffees.

APT changes could hand Everton big stadium advantage

Currently, Manchester City are disputing APT regulations over owner-related sponsorship funding.

If the Premier League were to drop their stance on APT, it would allow the Friedkins to potentially source sponsorship deals related to their own dealings.

Everton could unleash on the Premier League if they drop APT due to the possible lost earnings ensued over recent seasons.

However, much like Burnley’s legal pursuit of compensation, it could prove a difficult matter to justify in court.

For now, the Friedkins are focused on moving forward and securing a mega stadium naming rights deal would be the perfect way to go into the new season.
