Last summer saw Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho get handed a lifeline by Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

The Blues signed a loan deal for the winger with an obligation to buy for £25 million.

It was agreed that as part of the deal, the buy clause would be triggered by Chelsea if they finished higher than 14th in the Premier League.

With the London-based side currently in fourth, fighting for Champions League football, the clause is set to be triggered despite recent speculation.

Reports have highlighted a penalty fee that Chelsea will need to pay if they pull out of the obligatory buy agreement, valued at £5 million.

However, Football Insider has now outlined Chelsea’s long-term plan for the England winger.

Chelsea’s two-part plan for Jadon Sancho

It’s understood that Chelsea are going to be going ahead with signing Sancho this summer despite his limited contributions to the team.

However, this is just part one of a two-part plan which would then see the winger immediately offloaded.

Sancho has recently expressed his desire to move back to Borussia Dortmund, the side that catapulted him to stardom before moving to Old Trafford.

It’s understood that several sides would be keen to sign Sancho, with the 25-year-old wanting to find a permanent club after multiple years on loan whilst at Old Trafford.
