Jimmy Butler’s lukewarm reaction to Heat tribute video as Warriors fall in Miami

Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler reacted to his former team's, the Miami Heat, tribute video to him, saying it was nice, but there wasn't a lot of emotions.

Jimmy Butler returned to the place he called home for six seasons as the Golden State Warriors took on the Miami Heat on the road. However, his homecoming was spoiled as the Warriors fell to the Heat, 112-86.

Before the game, Miami honored Butler with a tribute video, recognizing his contributions, including leading the team to two NBA Finals appearances. But the former Heat star wasn’t particularly moved by the gesture.

"The video was nice, but I wouldn’t say there were a lot of emotions," Butler said after the game, via NBA on ESPN.

During his six-year tenure with the Heat, Butler played 316 games, averaging 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. Now with the Warriors, his mission remains unchanged—winning. His presence has already been a game-changer, helping Golden State surge back into playoff contention. The team currently sits sixth in the Western Conference with a 41-31 record.

So far in his Warriors stint, Butler is averaging 17.3 points, 6.3 assists, and 6.1 rebounds, making a significant impact on both ends of the floor.
