Jason Wilcox will likely be one of the main figures for Manchester United in the 2025 summer transfer window, alongside Christopher Vivell.
Both the technical director and head of recruitment have expertise in signing younger, unknown players, and this is likely the avenue Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be expecting this summer.
Spoliers for this summer’s transfer window can be found in the Jason Wilcox-driven signings made over the past 10 months, including instant successes like Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi.
Manchester United’s first arrival of the summer will be Diego Leon, who is joining from Cerro Porteno. The young Paraguayan will likely be joined by several other teenage prospects as Ineos intends to rebuild Ruben Amorim’s side from the ground up.
United are gearing up for double-digit exits, which means there should be substantial arrivals, with one youngster looking like a top target.

Chris Rigg shines for England U19s
Of all the links, Sunderland’s Chris Rigg looks like the most likely addition for United this summer. United consider Rigg to be a “must-have” talent, with the potential to be as good as Jude Bellingham.
Over the international break, Rigg’s stock will only have grown further as he starred for England’s U19 side during the handful of games they had over the break.
Rigg’s break started as he dominated midfield against Turkey, including one of the sharpest, Zinedine Zidane-esque turns to be seen in years. Rigg evaded pressure with this before a millimetre-perfect switch out to the wing.

England drew the game 0-0, but Rigg showed several flashes of his elite quality and left many convinced once again that he is more than ready to make the step up into the Premier League for United.
His latest performance, however, was even better as Rigg turned match winner with his goal against Portugal for England.
The goal was an instinctive one as he pounced on a loose ball in the box to put England ahead early.
This round of internationals has just made one thing crystal clear around Rigg.
Jason Wilcox must move now to sign Chris Rigg for Manchester United
Rigg is set to be one of Europe’s hottest commodities this summer, with the Sunderland wonderkid’s NXGN ranking likely to add further fuel to the flame.
Half of the Premier League want the 17-year-old, with Inter Milan one foreign side to hold an interest in Rigg. It has been claimed that United are among Rigg’s top options this summer, with the project sure to appeal to a player so young.
Rigg is a once-in-a-generation player, with comparisons to Bryan Robson and Roy Keane proving he is a youngster United simply cannot miss out on. He will be a United midfielder for the next 15 years if Wilcox manages to secure his signature.
Due to this, Wilcox must move swiftly and offer Sunderland a deal they cannot refuse this summer, securing almost a pre-agreement to usurp all the other interested parties.
He is a sensational player, and United must get the deal done.
