Leeds United chief Paraag Marathe’s involvement in a Rangers takeover bid could be set to benefit the Yorkshire side already.
The 49ers Enterprises supremo is leading negotiations to purchase a controlling stake in the Ibrox outfit alongside ParetoHealth chairman Andrew Cavenagh.
A deal in principle has been agreed with legal formalities set to be completed shortly that would see the Glasgow giants join the American group’s roster.
The deal is likely to lead to close relations between the two sides, and a move that would bolster Daniel Farke‘s squad is already being considered.

Marathe has Rangers star in Leeds sights
Amid questions of which club would be the bigger in the partnership, Leeds or Rangers, it seems like that question has already been answered.

A report from TEAMtalk (26 March) claims that Leeds are one of several clubs that are interested in a £20million move for Gers star Nicolas Raskin.
It states that the Whites face competition from the likes of Aston Villa, Brentford and clubs in Germany for his services.

Raskin would be a quality addition for Leeds
The 24-year-old midfielder has starred for the Govan outfit since a £1.4m switch from Standard Liege in his native Belgium.
He has been instrumental in their Europa League run and was the best player on the pitch in the recent Old Firm victory over league leaders Celtic.
Stats (Scottish Premiership) Raskin
Matches 26
Chances created 23
Duels won 168 (59.2%)
Aerial duels won 50 (58.8%)
Raskin’s stats this season.
Raskin made his debut for his country earlier this week from the bench, and his stock rose further after he made his first start in the second leg against Ukraine (23 March).
The Light Blues ace would bring another combative and aggressive presence to the Whites’ midfield, one that would not go amiss if they are promoted from the Championship at the end of the season.
The fact that the Gers would be willing to allow the Belgium star to leave for Elland Road signals that the Yorkshire outfit will be the bigger party in any relationship.
That was expected anyway since the money from the Premier League is much bigger than the revenues of Scottish clubs, but the potential move may well confirm that status.
