Leeds United are almost certain to sign a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window, as there is a clear understanding that Illan Meslier cannot be their number one if they get promoted to the Premier League. Caoimhin Kelleher is the number one target for the Whites, and the Liverpool star has received the backing of another former great goalkeeper.
Kelleher is almost certain to move on from Liverpool in the summer when he will have a year left on his contract, and several Premier League clubs have their eyes on him.

Leeds want to sign him if they get promoted but he is also being chased by Bournemouth and Chelsea ahead of the next summer transfer window.
The goalkeeper wants guarantees of being the number one from any club who are interested in signing him and Leeds should have no problem in providing those assurances as long as they are in the Premier League next season.
Caoimhin Kelleher has been backed to become a goalkeeping great
Kelleher has been unfortunate to be behind Alisson Becker at Liverpool, and he is now prepared to move on in the summer to play week-in-week-out somewhere else.
Former Liverpool shot-stopper Sander Westerveld also feels it is time for the Irishman to find a new club and insisted that any club signing him next summer would be getting a great goalkeeper.
He stressed that Kelleher now needs to play regularly, even if, as a Liverpool fa,n he would have wanted to hold on to his talent.
“With Kelleher, I think his time has come to play regularly as a number one somewhere”, Sander Westerveld was quoted as saying by the Irish Mirror.
“In the Premier League and Championship, he could be a great goalkeeper for almost all of the teams that there are.
“He’s a quality goalkeeper, and he needs to play. As a fan, I would like him to stay a bit longer, but then Liverpool would have two of the best goalkeepers in Europe [behind Alisson].”
Leeds United should be all over him
If Leeds are in the Premier League next season, Meslier is unlikely to be the man they would be prepared to trust with the goalkeeping gloves.
The Whites also have an interest in Aaron Ramsdale, who will be looking for a new club in the summer, with Southampton set to be relegated from the Premier League.

However, Kelleher is the dream signing and Leeds must pull all the necessary resources to ensure they get their hands on the Liverpool fan this summer.
He is likely to be available for anywhere between the £25m to £30m mark, which should be a great investment for Leeds given Kelleher would likely solve a major area of concern for years to come.
