Six areas across the country are expected to have a "danger level" heat index on Thursday, according to PAGASA.A heat index between 42°C and 51°C is considered a “danger” category, posing health risks such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.According to PAGASA, Dagupan City, Pangasinan is expected to experience a temperature as high as 47°C.

Meanwhile, the following areas could reach up to 43°C heat:

* Tuguegarao City, Cagayan

* Virac (Synop), Catanduanes

* CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur

* Butuan City, Agusan del Norte

Legazpi, Albay is also expected to experience a 42°C heat index.The heat index measures how hot it feels to the human body, factoring in humidity along with the actual air temperature.In Metro Manila, NAIA Pasay City will see a heat index of 40°C, while Science Garden Quezon City will experience 38°C.A heat index from 33°C to 41°C is under the “extreme caution” category, where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible, and continuing activity could lead to heat stroke.
