William Osula and Alexander Isak send messages to £50m Newcastle target after his goal on…

The Newcastle United duo were quick to praise an international star who could make a move to St James’ Park.

All 14 Newcastle United stars on international duty this month have finished their fixtures and can now plan a journey back to Tyneside.

When they arrive back at Newcastle, they can prepare for the club’s Carabao Cup bus parade on March 29th, followed by celebrations at the Town Moor.

Alexander Isak was hailed by Swedish media after he ended his international break with a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over Northern Ireland.

Alexander Isak’s Newcastle strike partner William Osula was called up by Denmark but he didn’t feature in either of their Nations League clashes against Portugal this week.

Alexander Isak and William Osula send Anthony Elanga message

Like Isak, Anthony Elanga has had mixed results over the international break. Isak struggled against Luxembourg as Sweden suffered a 1-0 shock defeat – he played that match up front alongside Elanga.

But Isak and Elanga were both on the scoresheet on Tuesday evening against Northern Ireland, and both Isak and Osula were quick to congratulate the 22-year-old on his performance.

After the match, Elanga posted on Instagram, including a photo of him and Isak celebrating a goal.

Newcastle United remain interested in signing Anthony Elanga

During the last summer transfer window, Newcastle made a late £50m bid for Elanga which was rejected by Nottingham Forest on deadline day.

The Magpies remain on the lookout for a right winger, and Elanga is still on Newcastle’s radar.

Elanga was asked about joining Newcastle while on duty with the Sweden national team this week, and while he stayed fairly quiet about his future, it doesn’t look like the links are going anywhere anytime soon.

With Nottingham Forest on the brink of qualifying for the Champions League, Newcastle will likely have to match that achievement to try and lure Elanga to St James’ Park in the summer.

But with Elanga already close to several Newcastle stars – and with Eddie Howe’s side lifting a major trophy this season – there are plenty of reasons why the Swedish star might want to make the move.
