Obr Daily Mock Draft: Where There's Smoke...

Cleveland Browns Daily Mock Draft for March 26, 2025. With the rumor mill swirling around the Browns, we look at the draft through the scope of those moves coming to fruition.

10 mins

The theme of this week's mock is, "where there's smoke, there's fire." Right now, there is a lot of smoke in Browns country about two specific players – Russell Wilson and Brandon Aiyuk. So, we're going to assume, for the sake of this mock, that the Browns wind up signing Russell Wilson and parting ways with Wyatt Teller as a part of an Aiyuk trade. Would those signings make an impact on draft strategy in Berea or shift focus of the team at all? Here's how it could play out!

2. Abdul Carter, EDGE Penn State

6'2 1/8" 251 lbs

The more this offseason rolls along, the more convinced I am that there should really only be two players in play for the Browns with this pick – Cam Ward and Abdul Carter. In this edition, Cam Ward was selected first overall by the Titans, so we grab Carter here to create immense pain for all opposing quarterbacks. Had the Titans selected Carter in this mock, my choice would have been Cam Ward, and the signing of Russell Wilson would have had no impact on that decision

Other players available: Everyone not named Cam Ward

TRADE

- Browns send picks 33 and 179 to Jacksonville.

- Browns receive picks 36 and 88.

As it does every week, the 33rd pick gives us the opportunity to move back just a few spots while adding another top-100 pick. The players selected at 33, 34, and 35 were Coleston Loveland, Trey Amos, and Kenneth Grant, respectively.

36. Donovan Jackson, OL Ohio State

6'4" 320 lbs

While the offensive line will likely be a focus in the draft regardless of other moves, in this scenario, the loss of Wyatt Teller makes it an even bigger focus. Donovan Jackson is an athletic freak of nature. He's huge, he's strong, and he can move. He's a prototype player for the interior offensive line, and he could very likely lock down a spot on the Browns line for years to come.

Notable players available: Walter Nolen, Omarion Hampton, Mike Green, Benjamin Morrison, Harold Fannin Jr.

67. TreVeyon Henderson, RB Ohio State

5'10" 202 lbs

It's back-to-back Buckeyes here for the Browns as they add another really good playmaker to the running back room. Henderson is pretty much everything you want out of an NFL back. He's strong, he's fast, and he plays with the type of vision that really separates great backs from good ones.

Notable players available: Elic Ayomanor, Quinshon Judkins, Darius Alexander, Darien Porter, Jaylin Noel

88. Tez Johnson, WR Oregon

5'9" 154 lbs

While the (potential) addition of Russell Wilson wouldn't impact my decision with the first round pick, the (potential) addition of Brandon Aiyuk definitely impacts how I viewed receivers in this mock. In many of my previous mocks, I was trying to focus more on another outside deep threat receiver. But, with Aiyuk in the mix, the idea of grabbing an absolute burner of a slot receiver sounds too good to pass up. The knock on Tez is that he's small, and that's certainly a concern. But his elusiveness, quickness, and play style make him a really intriguing weapon for this offense, and he would be a big part of adding the explosiveness that Kevin Stefanski has talked about on that side of the ball.

Notable players available: Barrett Carter, Jalen Royals, Chris Paul Jr., Josaiah Stewart, Gunnar Helm

94. Gunnar Helm, TE Texas

6'5" 241 lbs

We can talk about size and skill with Gunnar Helm, and he'd be worth the pick here. We can talk about his measurables, his stats, and his playing style, and he'd be worth the pick here. But what I really like about Helm is how often he stands out during games. It felt like his name was said on broadcasts more than anyone during Longhorns games as he was constantly making winning plays for that offense. That's a trait the Browns could use!

Notable players available: Jalen Royals, Josaiah Stewart, Hollin Pierce, DJ Giddens, Cam Skattebo

104. Charles Grant, OT William & Mary

6'4" 311 lbs

Charles Grant is a really intriguing prospect who is only available here because he played at a small school and there are questions about how he will fare against bigger, better opposition. But when you see him play, he has all the traits you'd look for in a solid NFL tackle. He's strong in pass protection and he's mobile enough to swing out and block downfield in the run game. Pick 104 makes a lot of sense to take this swing on a guy who has a really high ceiling like Grant.

Notable players available: Jalen Royals, Kyren Lacy, Terrance Ferguson, Will Howard, Joshua Farmer

192. Kyle McCord, QB Syracuse

6'3" 218 lbs

I know how worked up people here in Ohio get when talking about Kyle McCord, but when you look at his skillset and the way he plays, it seems like a really great fit for a Kevin Stefanski offense. He's a pure pocket passer who thrives in a timing-based system as he gets the ball out quickly and accurately. He has to get better out of structure and going through his reads, but he possesses a lot of traits you'd look for in a QB with starter potential down the road.

Notable players available: JJ Pegues, Raheim Sanders, Tyler Shough, Simeon Barrow, Brashard Smith

200. Mello Dotson, CB Kansas

6'1" 190 lbs

Dotson is a solid combination of a physical corner and a fluid playmaker. Dotson can step up and make tackles in space, and he can stick with receivers all over the field. He also showed a knack for creating turnovers during his time at Kansas, an area the Browns desperately need to improve.

Notable players available: Simeon Barrow, Jake Majors, Aeneas Peebles, Jack Sawyer, Tonka Hemingway

216. Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, DL Georgia

6'4" 276 lbs

Dawkins got his first shot at being a starter for the Bulldogs this year, and he didn't disappoint. From the interior, he had 3 sacks and 8 tackles for loss as he was a disruptive force for Georgia. Add on the great numbers he posted at the Combine and the fact that he can play any spot on the defensive line, and there's a good reason to believe that he can make the jump from late round pick to quality NFL player.

Notable players available: Aeneas Peebles, Tahj Brooks, Carson Vinson, Luke Lachey, Kalel Mullings

255. Shilo Sanders, S Colorado

6'0" 195 lbs

For all the talk about the Browns and Shedeur Sanders, it's Shilo who makes his way to Cleveland in this draft! Shilo is a really good player with some durability concerns. He's another defensive back who is really good at creating turnovers, while not being afraid to jump in the box and make plays in the run game. He's most definitely worth a look here for the Browns, who need some safety help.

Notable players available: Aeneas Peebles, Patrick Jenkins, Vernon Broughton, Phil Mafah, Jalen Travis
