Federico Chiesa will become the fifth highest earner at Liverpool if Trent Alexander-Arnold's shock move to Real Madrid goes through. Chiesa, 27, has only played 387 minutes of football since his move to Anfield this season.
Despite his lack of action, he is still one of the highest earning players at the club, according to Spotrac. The Italian Euro 2020 winner arrived at Anfield last summer, becoming Arne Slot's first signing as Reds boss in the process.

However, he has only managed to play 25 minutes of Premier League football since his arrival. boss. Yet a look at his weekly and yearly salary suggests a player who might be otherwise starting in the top-flight.
While Chiesa has played little football, his salary, which is purported to be worth around £150,000 per week, makes him the sixth highest earner at Anfield. Only Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker and Andrew Robertson earn more money than him on the red side of Merseyside, according to Spotrac.
However, with reports claiming that Alexander-Arnold could soon move to Real Madrid when his contract expires at the end of the season, Chiesa will move into the top five highest earners. The Italian will move even further up the salary table if Salah and Van Dijk also follow Alexander-Arnold out the exit door when their contracts also expire in the summer.

Similarly to the Reds' right-back, Van Dijk and Salah will be able to walk away from the club for free, unless the Reds can persuade them to sign a new contract.
Salah has been particularly vocal about his contractual situation, telling the press back in November that he is "probably more out than in" at Anfield, shortly after scoring a brace in Liverpool's 3-2 away victory against Southampton. While it is yet to be confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool, reports from Sky Sports News claim Real Madrid are holding talks with the England international's representatives.
The report also states that Alexander-Arnold's preference is to join Carlo Ancelotti's squad, even though the Reds are yet to be told by the Champions League holders that an agreement has been reached. The right-back has been at Liverpool throughout his career and made his full debut for the Reds in 2016 in a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup.

Alexander-Arnold has reportedly decided to move to Real Madrid at the end of the season
He has since gone on to win everything there is to win at Anfield, playing a key role under Jurgen Klopp and Slot. The defender is currently nursing an injury he picked up in the Champions League exit at home to Paris Saint-Germain.
He missed the League Cup final defeat to Newcastle United and was also not fit enough to link up with Thomas Tuchel's first England squad. This season, Alexander-Arnold has contributed three goals and seven assists in 39 appearances from right-back.
While he will be missed by the club if he departs, Reds fans have also been excited by understudy Conor Bradley, who has impressed when called upon.
The Northern Irishman particularly stood out in the 2-0 home victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League, when he helped mark Kylian Mbappe out of the game.
