Sky Reporter Claims Man City Are One Of 2 PL Clubs“Showing The Most Concrete Interest”In£55M Rated Wonderkid

Manchester City and Tottenham are leading the race for Southampton winger Tyler Dibling, according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

Several other Premier League clubs (including Manchester United and Chelsea) as well as Bundesliga teams have been linked with signing the teenager.

However, Plettenberg believes that Pep Guardiola’s side and Spurs are “showing the most concrete interest” in Dibling at the moment.

The 19-year-old is a noted dribbler, known for his direct running. Although he has been part of a Southampton team that has struggled terribly on their return to the top flight, he has still managed to stand out on the odd occasion.

Dibling impressed against Manchester United in a 3-0 defeat back in September, winning a penalty that could have seen his team go 1-0 up. He was also impressive against league leaders Liverpool during a 3-2 loss a couple of months later.

Southampton are hoping to receive a big fee for Dibling

When reports first emerged about interest from other teams, it was suggested that the Saints wanted as much as £55m for the England Under 21 international.

It is fair to say that any club would have to pay a premium to sign a homegrown player but that asking price might put off City from making an approach.

Man City have been linked with several wingers

Dibling is by no means the only wide player on the Cityzens’ radar. Juventus’s Kenan Yildiz has been mentioned as a potential target over the past couple of months.

The Turkish international is the same age as Dibling but he has considerably more experience of playing at the highest level, having made 73 appearances for Juve.

It is believed that Pep Guardiola’s side also hold an interest in Sporting Lisbon’s Francisco Trincao
