Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took charge of his 27.7% of Manchester United, the INEOS owner has funded a £50 million renovation of Carrington.

The development is due to be completed ready for the pre-season ahead of next year’s campaign, with a target date of 31st July 2025.

This date falls whilst the Red Devils are on their pre-season tour of the states, allowing them to return to a new training facility.

Whilst the end look of the renovation has been unknown, the model created for the development has now been released.

Manchester Evening News has revealed that the model is on display in the entrance to Foster + Partners, who are the firm behind the designs for the proposed ‘New Trafford’ stadium.

In the model, the ‘dead space’ balcony overlooking the training pitches is set to be converted into a communal area with a second tier being added near the entrance.

The focus of the design is to create “more space for collaboration and innovation among players and staff”.
