Manchester United will feel a knock-on effect of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold choosing to join Real Madrid.
It seems as though Liverpool have failed to hold on to their prized academy graduate with reports that Trent Alexander-Arnold has agreed to join Real Madrid in the summer.

The 26-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and Liverpool could not convince him to stay put at Anfield.
Marcus Rashford may miss facing Alexander-Arnold having often got the better of him when Manchester United faced Liverpool. But Madrid snapping up the English right-back may also affect Ineos’ transfer plans at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid now unlikely to continue £50m Diogo Dalot interest
Madrid will view Alexander-Arnold as their right-back for the future, so a move for United’s Diogo Dalot can be ruled out.
Ahead of the recent January window, Madrid were showing interest in Dalot while Bayern Munich and Italian clubs were also mentioned as potential suitors.
Reports claimed Madrid were ready to bid £50m for Dalot which would have provided a huge PSR boost to United if they accepted.

Dalot was signed for £19m back in 2018 and as he has been at the club for the past seven years a sale would provide pure profit from a PSR perspective.
However, with Alexander-Arnold now on his way to Madrid, Ineos can give up hope of a £50m bid arriving on their desk this summer.
Diogo Dalot is improving under Ruben Amorim
Ruben Amorim is a big fan of Dalot, and a recent report from The Athletic proved that the 26-year-old has actually played more outfield minutes than any other United player this season – even beating Bruno Fernandes.
United have struggled with injuries over the past two seasons, but Dalot has always been available and ready to play. On top of that, his versatility has proven useful.

Dalot has spent most of the season playing at left wing-back to cover for the injured Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. Dalot’s decision-making has been criticised, but he is starting to show signs of improvement under Amorim.
Against Leicester City, Dalot was nearly flawless and his crossing from out wide looked much better given it has been a concern this season. Keeping hold of the Portugal international might not be the worst thing for Ineos this summer.
