Man allegedly tried to murder wife because she ‘refused to take photo with him’

36-year-old Arielle Konig was rushed to hospital in a critical condition

46-year-old Gerhardt Konig was taken into custody on Monday following a manhunt.

Reports say he allegedly hit his wife Arielle Konig over the head with a rock before trying to push her from a lookout on Windward Oahu hiking trail near Honolulu after 10am.

Sources told Hawaii News Now that Konig also tried to prick his wife with syringes.

It’s alleged that the 36-year-old was attacked after she declined to take a photograph with her husband.
