The Dallas Cowboys' need to get CeeDee Lamb some receiver help is now well-documented.
With no weapons behind Lamb capable of scaring an NFL defense, the general thought is that Dallas will address the need in the draft with a host of young studs in line to be picked at No. 12.
But the Cowboys could make a shrewd move for a wily veteran who does nothing but consistently produce for his team, and it is one who we have seen be mentioned over the last month - Tyler Lockett.

Now, Lockett - depending on the dollars - wouldn't be seen by some as a "splash,: more so a "selectively aggressive" move with Tyler, per Spotrac.com, having a $7.7 million market value.
But that number? That fits into the salary cap pie. That's "splash'' enough for us.
Plus, head coach/offensive play-caller Brian Schottenheimer has ties with Lockett from his time in Seattle. But perhaps more than that, the Cowboys' culture shift that Schotty wants to implement, Lockett would help bring that along having been a model citizen since entering the league. Tick, tick, and tick.

Another benefit to this move is that it wouldn't stop Dallas from going after a receiver in the draft either. Having a trio of Lamb, Lockett and say Tetairoa McMillan, Matthew Golden, Luther Burden III or Emeka Egbuka is a nice group for Dak Prescott.
Given the Cowboys have just under $40 million in cap space, we get the sense that the franchise is waiting to see how the draft shakes out before using the remaining money.
But in Lockett, Dallas would get a proven receiver, and one that wouldn't break the bank.
That's a win-win in our eyes.
