Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Syracuse men’s basketball player Cole Swider has signed a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors, the team announced on Wednesday.
The Raptors currently sit six games out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 10 games to play.
Swider played two games in the NBA earlier this season with the Detroit Pistons on a two-way contract but was waived by the team in January.
He has excelled in the G-League this season, playing 18 games with the affiliates of the Pistons and Lakers. He has averaged 20.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and shot 44.3 percent from behind the 3-point line (as well as 57.8 percent from the field).
Swider has played 27 NBA games over the course of three seasons with three franchises since his rookie year of 2022-23. He has played regular-season games with the Lakers, Heat and Pistons.
Swider played one year at SU after transferring from Villanova, averaging 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and shot 41.1 percent from behind the 3-point line.
He joins Jerami Grant and Jesse Edwards as players with SU ties who are currently members of NBA rosters.
Oshae Brissett recently had a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers conclude but was not re-signed.
A number of former SU players are competing in the G-League without an NBA contract, a group that includes Buddy Boeheim, Quincy Guerrier, Elijah Hughes and Judah Mintz.
