The Golden State Warriors are in the middle of battling for playoff seeding as the regular season winds down quickly.
Over their last two games, the Warriors have lost both. Golden State lost to the Atlanta Hawks by a final score of 124-115 and followed that up with a loss to the Miami Heat. Against the Heat, the Warriors fell 112-86.
Following the two losses, Golden State holds a 41-31 record. Right now, that places them as the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. However, they are just half of a game ahead of both the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
On Friday. night, the Warriors will look to get back on track with a big matchup on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Steve Kerr, the Golden State head coach, spoke out with a very stern warning to his team after dropping two straight games with the playoffs right around the corner.
He boldly stated that Friday night's game against the Pelicans is the most important game of the season.
Sam Gordon of the San Francisco Chronicle shared Kerr's statement about the importance of the team's next outing.
"The biggest game of the year for us," Kerr said. "We've lost two games in a row. Very poor performances. It's time. We've got to bounce back. And that's what good teams do. And I'm confident that we'll do that."

Kerr and the Warriors could receive a major boost. Steph Curry, the team's superstar point guard, is expected to return against New Orleans. Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN shared that Kerr expects Curry to come back for the pivotal matchup.
"He worked out and looked good," Kerr said. "But at the very end of the workout, just one movement that he made just didn't quite feel right. "Knowing the schedule, knowing we've got the next two days off, I think it'll be a full week when he returns. We expect him to return into New Orleans. We'll see ... a full week off and that could really take care of the injury and regenerate, recharge his batteries. So I think that's a good plan."
