The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears are in the market for a wide receiver in April’s draft. The Bears are looking for a long-term replacement for Keenan Allen, who is in free agency after one season in Chicago.
The Packers need depth at the position with uncertainty on Christian Watson’s timeline in 2025. The star wide receiver suffered a torn ACL in January and is expected to miss at least the beginning of the upcoming season.
Given Watson’s injury history, the Packers should look to boost the receiver corps to get the most out of quarterback Jordan Love.
The Bears and Packers have eyes on the same wide receiver before the draft. This figures, as the Packers and Bears were in competition for defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo in free agency this year before he joined Chicago.

Bond played two seasons at Alabama before transferring to Texas for his third and final season in college. He appeared in 41 games, recording 99 receptions for 1,428 yards, and 10 touchdowns. Bond caught 34 passes for 540 yards, and five touchdowns for the Longhorns in 2024.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com compared Bond to Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle.

Here’s Zierlein’s scouting report on Bond:
“Fluid, fast and untapped,” Zierlein wrote. “Bond played decoy for the betterment of Texas’ offense but clearly has the talent to take on a more focused, productive role. He’s a capable route-runner, has good hands and can play wide or from the slot. An offense should feed him a heavier diet of shallow crossers, deep digs and quick-game throws, allowing him to make magic with the ball in his hands and add to their chunk play total.
“He’s tough but can struggle on combat catches and against contact-oriented coverage. Bond is an explosive athlete with above-average skill. He simply needs more targets to reach his potential. He’s well-suited to the NFL game and could become a very good pro within his first three seasons.”
The five-foot-11, 180-pound receiver ran a 4.39 in the scouting combine in February. Bleacher Report has Bond going in the third round of the draft.
Bond would speedy threat that would help fill in for the absence of Watson this season. He could eventually replace the Packers’ 2022 second-round pick.
