Latest Chelsea injury news with Palmer decision amid Jackson and Madueke hope

Chelsea have just over a week before they return to Premier League action after the international break.

The Blues were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal in their last match before the two-week hiatus from club football. The defeat leaves Chelsea in fourth place in the Premier League table with nine matches left to play.

Enzo Maresca and Co. return to top-flight duties on Thursday, April 3, when they host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea boss will be forced to deal with several injury concerns for the clash against Spurs in the London derby.

Cole Palmer remains an injury concern for Chelsea after missing the defeat to Arsenal. The playmaker was not part of the squad for the clash at the Emirates Stadium, and was subsequently withdrawn from Thomas Tuchel's England squad for undergo further assessment.

Maresca admitted at the time that he did not expect Palmer to feature in the England squad, confirming that the Blues No.20 would undergo a scan on a muscle injury.

"We never wish for players to get injured but in Cole’s case in this moment it will give him some rest physically and mentally so it could be good," Maresca said after Chelsea's defeat to Arsenal. "He needs a scan and it is planned for Monday."

Chelsea also have Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson on the sidelines with injury, with the pair also missing the loss to Arsenal before the international break.

Maresca admitted earlier this month that he hopes to have the duo available after the club returns to action after the round of international matches.

Marc Guiu has been sidelined with a hamstring injury but will hope to return to action in the near future.

Omari Kellyman is expected to be ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.
