Tim Iroegbunam has endured a frustrating first season at Everton since his move from Aston Villa.

Everton have dealt with their share of injuries throughout the season, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja missing significant chunks of the season.

Iroegbunam has also dealt with his share of fitness issues this season, as he has been unavailable for the Merseyside giants for months after a positive start.

The 21-year-old only joined the Toffees last summer, but he has missed 15 matches this season in the Premier League because of an ankle problem.

The injury derailed his momentum at Goodison Park after he had started four of the opening seven games this season, with the midfielder having failed to start any matches following his injury.

Injuries are commonplace in football, but serious ones can have a devastating impact, and that’s what Chelsea youngster Omari Kellyman has sustained.

The 19-year-old joined the Blues for £19million during the last summer transfer window but has now confirmed that he has undergone successful surgery after a hamstring injury.

The footballing world has shown an outpouring of respect for him with the likes of Reece James and Nicolas Jackson reaching out to the attacking midfielder.

Iroegbunam was also part of that as he commented two hearts on Kellyman’s Instagram post to show that he’s thinking of his former Villa teammate.

Everton are looking to end the season in style

The Toffees are full of confidence right now as David Moyes has safely pushed them away from the relegation zone with an impressive run of form.

Everton are undefeated in their previous nine Premier League matches as they now aim to end the season in style ahead of their move to the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

Iroegbunam will be attempting to play more of a role in that after finally getting back to fitness, as he has made appearances from the bench in Everton’s previous seven matches.

Moyes and the Friedkin Group will not be afraid to make massive changes ahead of a new era this summer, so the likes of Iroegbunam will be desperate to prove themselves to the new regime.
