Rodrygo, limited to the first half, was a shadow of his usual self. His touch was off, his passes misplaced, and he exited at halftime with Brazil trailing 3-1—unable to influence a sinking ship. Endrick replaced Rodrygo at the half and played 48 minutes. He brought physicality and the work ethic Madrid fans have gotten used to, but his efforts yielded no reward; a late chance was thwarted by Emiliano Martinez’s heroics.
Argentina’s Julian Alvarez, Enzo Fernandez, Alexis Mac Allister, and Giuliano Simeone scored, while Matheus Cunha’s lone goal was Brazil’s only reply.
