**DayofPal**– Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel strongly denounced Israel’s ongoing military assaults in Gaza, asserting that the country continues to “exterminate Palestinians… with total impunity” while receiving unwavering support from the United States.
In a statement on X, Díaz-Canel condemned Israel’s indiscriminate airstrikes on civilian infrastructure, emphasizing that its forces “bomb hospitals, refugee camps, and UN facilities, in flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law.”
Reiterating his stance in a subsequent post on March 18, the Cuban leader accused Israel of escalating its offensive with explicit backing from the U.S. administration.
“They seek to annihilate the Palestinian population of the Strip at all costs and with increasing brutality. This genocide cannot go unpunished,” he wrote.
Cuba has consistently opposed Israeli military operations in Gaza and remains a staunch advocate for a two-state solution grounded in the recognition of Palestinian sovereignty.
In a notable display of solidarity, Cuba formally declared in January its decision to join South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
