It is not hard to see why the San Francisco 49ers would be in the market for a top receiver in the 2025 Draft Class.
That wouldn't be the right move for the organization, though.
San Francisco lost a deep collection of talent on the defensive side of the ball this offseason including Javon Hargrave and Leonard Floyd along the defensive line. The offense also gave up Deebo Samuel in a salary cap move that opened up some space for the organization.
Their offensive line outside of Trent Williams has been a mess for years, and their cornerback room took a bit hit this offseason as well.
In the end, the 49ers are making a big mistake if/when they make their pick with the 11th overall pick and look to fill any other holes outside the offensive line or defensive line.

The 2025 class is a good group for defensive linemen, no matter who the target is. The class is also filled with top talent at tackle and guard. There's no reason for the 49ers to essentially move past those needs for the flashier pick in a wide receiver.
Even a cornerback would make more sense at this point.
San Francisco drafted Ricky Pearsall in the first round last season. If they were to double-dip at receiver for the second straight year, it might just be the biggest mistake of the John Lynch era.
And could set the franchise back a lot farther than people realize because the trenches would be ignored yet again by the organization.
