Everton are already planning ahead of the summer transfer window, with a free agent deal already lined up.

With Premier League safety all but wrapped up, Everton can have one eye on decisions to be made in the summer window.

Several players could depart Goodison Park over the next few months, though incomings will be just as important ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

With that in mind, Everton are looking to make a swoop for a player they were believed to have made a bid for in the winter transfer window.

Burnley star remains on Everton radar

Everton had a somewhat uneventful winter transfer window, with the arrival of Carlos Alcaraz proving to be the only one that would happen on Merseyside.

However, they will be looking to avoid a repeat of that this summer, with a free transfer swoop for Josh Brownhill on the cards [EFL Analysis].

Brownhill has been a mainstay throughout his time at Burnley.

The report (26 March) states that Everton are keen to acquire his services at the end of the season when his Burnley contract expires, after they failed in their attempt to sign Brownhill in the winter.

His addition is unlikely to be one to spark optimism, though it could prove to be a very shrewd option when taking into account the level of experience he has in English football.

Everton have a huge summer ahead

David Moyes’ side have plenty of work to do in the summer to build on the foundations that have been laid by the Scotsman since his appointment.

Everton have a good squad at the moment, though I’m missing quality and a couple of key areas while also lacking experience in others, which will be crucial to their attempts of improving next season.

Brownhill’s addition would solve the latter of those two concerns, though there would still be plenty of work needed to ensure that the Toffees can have a successful campaign next time out and steer well clear of being involved in any relegation battle.
