Future of William Saliba at Arsenal
Amongst Arsenal’s supporters, the goal this summer transfer window is to better the squad. They want an improved starting eleven. After a quiet summer market in 2024, they are sure that the club is ready to spend big.
Despite of a loss, their financial results were strong. And, their return to the Champions League and title challenge has given them a decent footing. The benefit in signing big name players is that it can bring your club success,.
William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are probably the best central defensive duo in the world. And the Gunners have them at the moment. In recent weeks however, both have been linked away from the club.
Football London understands that Arsenal is remaining calm on the future contract status of both players. They will be staying until 2027. The France international did confirm that no talks had started yet. But he signaled that he was happy and wanted to remain.
Saudi Arabians are said to be keen on Gabriel Magalhaes. They can offer huge salaries to lure talent away from Europe. The north London side would likely expect large fees to even consider a move for Magalhaes. They would expected offers above market value. As several believe a price above £100 million would need to be in an offer as a starting point.
Josh Kroenke, co-chairman since Kroenke Sports Entertainment acquired full ownership of the club in 2018. He has led the Emirates team back into the title talks.
Timber injury update
Gunners defender Jurrien Timber is likely to play in the side against Fulham on April 1. It will be their first Premier League game back from the international break. Timber withdrawn himself from the Netherlands’ squad due to illness.
He was out for the second leg in Valencia. Netherlands’ coach Ronald Koeman recalled Ian Maatsen from Aston Villa as a replacement.
Timber should be able to play with the Gunners next week. They’ll host Fulham at the Emirates Stadium next week.
The London side is not playing in the FA Cup this weekend. That means the Dutch defender has additional time to recover ahead of his eventual return.
